In 2013, we had a vision. That vision was to not only temper the decline, but GROW the game by enhancing the experience for everyone. We wanted to offer elite protection to match the high standards of parents and coaches. At the high school and college levels, we found that coaches want to keep their players protected during full speed football drills even when rules restricted them from wearing contact equipment. At the younger levels, offering elite protection is not the only way to keep people in the game. We quickly found that, for the young kids, having a great experience is almost as important as important as having the proper protection. The kids want to be like “real football players” out there, strapping up there helmet to go play with their buddies.

As a result, RockSolid was born. Our founder, former NFL linebacker Joey LaRocque, and our Vice President Caleb Hanie, a 6 year NFL veteran quarterback, made it their mission to fill this void in player safety. Teaming up with other professional athletes, engineers, and top designers, the RockSolid RS1 softshell helmet was created; the WORLD’S FIRST soft shell helmet specifically designed for football. Now the dream was a reality. Protecting the players, while enhancing the game.

As the saying goes, “teamwork makes the dream work.” So Joey, Caleb, and the RockSolid team made up of former athletes, did what they do best; put their head down and worked. They hit the streets and spent most of 2014 and 2015 driving door to door meeting with high school coaches, administrators, flag football commissioners, parents, and booster clubs sharing the Rocksolid vision. The hard work paid off and resulted in protecting over 30,000 athletes, 500 high school programs, hundreds of flag leagues, and numerous camps and 7 on 7 tournaments!
